DayGlance

Privacy Policy

Effective October 18, 2026

In short: DayGlance shows your calendar, tasks and notes on your iPhone and draws your Lock Screen wallpaper on your iPhone. It has no user accounts, no ads and no tracking or analytics tools. Your calendar data stays on your iPhone unless you turn on the optional AI summary (below); anything from Google never reaches our servers, and we never sell your data.

This policy explains what the DayGlance iPhone app ("DayGlance", "we") does with information, and applies to the app and this website. Questions: tals012@gmail.com.

Calendars on your iPhone

If you allow calendar access, DayGlance reads the events in the calendars on your iPhone (iCloud and any accounts you added in iOS Settings) to show them in the app, its widgets, the next-event countdown and the Lock Screen wallpaper it draws. If you add an event in DayGlance, or turn on logging finished tasks, it saves that event to your calendar. This data is read and used on your iPhone only and is not sent to us, except for the few facts described under "AI summary" below, and only if you turn that on.

Google user data

You can connect a Google account to DayGlance directly. DayGlance then requests these read-only permissions:

How we use it. Only to show your events in DayGlance: the agenda, the widgets, the next-event countdown and the Lock Screen wallpaper drawn on your iPhone, and to avoid showing an event twice when the same account is also added in iOS Settings. DayGlance cannot create, change or delete anything in your Google account.

Where it goes. Your iPhone requests the data directly from Google over an encrypted connection. It is never sent to DayGlance's servers or to anyone else. The sign-in token Google issues is kept in your iPhone's Keychain, on that device only. The calendars and events are kept in DayGlance's private storage on your iPhone (shared only with DayGlance's own widgets) so the widgets and the wallpaper can be drawn without a new request.

Sharing. We do not share, sell, rent or transfer Google user data. It is not used for advertising, not used to build profiles, not read by people, and not used to develop, improve or train any AI or machine-learning models.

Keeping and deleting it. The copy on your iPhone is replaced each time DayGlance refreshes. Tap Disconnect (More → Calendars to include) to revoke DayGlance's access at Google and delete the token and all cached Google data from your iPhone. Deleting the app also deletes it. You can also remove DayGlance's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Limited Use. DayGlance's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

AI summary (optional)

The Plan screen can add one short, personal line under your day's summary. Where Apple Intelligence supports your language, it is written on your iPhone and nothing is sent anywhere. Where it doesn't (for example in Hebrew), you can turn on "AI summary with OpenAI". It is off until you agree, and you can turn it off at any time in More → AI summary.

When it is on, DayGlance sends these facts about today through our server to OpenAI to write that line: how many tasks are due and how many are done, the name of your most important open task, whether you are in a meeting now or when your next one is, that meeting's name if it comes from a calendar on your iPhone, whether more meetings follow, your streak, your language and the part of the day. Meetings from a Google account connected directly in DayGlance are sent only as "a meeting", without their names: Google user data is never sent. Our server does not store the request or the reply and keeps no record of who sent it. OpenAI receives the facts through its API; under its API terms, data sent this way is not used to train its models by default, and it may be kept for a limited time to detect abuse.

Tasks, notes and settings

Your tasks, notes and settings are stored on your iPhone. If iCloud is turned on, they sync between your devices through Apple's iCloud (your private CloudKit database and iCloud key-value storage), under your own Apple Account. We cannot see them.

Location

If you turn on "When to leave", DayGlance uses your location while the app is in use to ask Apple Maps for the drive time to events that have a map location. Your location is not stored and is not sent to us.

Notifications

Task reminders are scheduled on your iPhone. If you allow notifications, the app registers with our server so we can send occasional announcements: it sends the push token Apple assigns to the app on your device, the app version, your language and region setting, and your time zone. It sends no name, email address, calendar, task or location data. Tokens that Apple reports as no longer valid are deleted.

Our server

The app downloads its settings and the background pictures from our server, hosted by Vercel. These requests carry no personal data; like any web host, Vercel processes your IP address to deliver the response and may keep it in short-lived logs. The only other requests are the push registration (see Notifications) and, if you turn it on, the AI summary (see above).

Purchases

Purchases are made through Apple's App Store. We receive no payment details.

Children

DayGlance is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
